Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!
Elbow Lake Hope Camp’s leadership is made up entirely of volunteers. We welcome youth, adults, elders, and families from all faith backgrounds–everyone who has a heart to serve. We’d love for you to join our team!

Preparing family meals is our love language. Our cooking teams prepare meals for Hope Camp, for our team, and for community dinners throughout the year. During the week of Hope Camp, one team prepares and serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks. A second team prepares and serves dinners for our team members throughout the week.
We are hoping to begin sharing meals with the Elbow community more often throughout the year. If this is something you’d enjoy helping with, please let us know.
This role is open to everyone. No experience necessary.
Our setup team makes it possible for our family gatherings to happen. If you like to help out and be active, this may be a good role for you. The setup team gets everything ready before camp and events. We set up our tent, tables and chairs, traffic cones, and other needed items. Throughout the day we move tables and chairs for each activity and clean as needed. Afterward we pack up and put everything away.
This role is open to everyone. No experience necessary.
Our counselors, called clan leaders, provide encouragement and guidance for our youth in small groups during Hope Camp. Camp counselors can choose which age group they would like to lead: babies to preschoolers, 6-8 year olds, 9-12 year olds, teenagers, or young adults.
Counselors lead clan times which include storytelling, spiritual practices, and fun activities. They share breakfast and lunch, sports and art, and swimming with their group. They take care of the needs of each of their group members. Counselors for teenagers and young adults take them on field trips.
Our mentors walk alongside our youth to give encouragement and guidance throughout the year.
This role is open to volunteers who meet requirements to work with youth. Training is required. Camp counselors must complete a background check before camp begins.
Our lifeguards serve the week of Hope Camp to make sure our swimming at the lake each day is safe for everyone. Other lifeguarding opportunities are open throughout the summer months.
Current lifeguard certification is required. This role is open to volunteers who meet requirements to work with youth. Lifeguards must complete a background check before camp begins.
We are hoping to gather volunteers who enjoy painting, home construction and repairs, and landscaping work. This team would help get a new location ready for family gatherings. They could also serve Elbow community members throughout the year.
This role is open to everyone. No experience needed for some projects; others require skills specific to project.
